1. Who we are
The Plant Keeper Journal app (the "App") and the website at plantkeeperjournal.com (the "Site") are operated by Two Nodes Three Leaves LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our"). In this policy, "you" means a user of the App or Site.

2. Information in the app
Plant Keeper Journal is designed so that your content stays with you.
Your plant records stay on your device
Your plants, photos, notes, milestones, care observations, and all other content you create in the App are stored locally on your iPhone. In this version of the App, this content is never transmitted to us, and we have no ability to see, access, retrieve, or restore it. It is yours and it stays on your device.
Camera and photo library
With your permission, the App accesses your camera and photo library so you can add images to your plant records. Those images are stored locally within the App on your device. We do not upload or receive them. You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
No account, no profile
The App does not require you to create an account or sign in. We do not collect your name, email address, or any profile information through the App.
No location or photo-metadata tracking
The App does not use your device's location, and it does not read GPS or other location metadata from your photos.
Subscriptions and purchases
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. We never receive or store your payment card number or billing details. Apple provides us with limited, largely aggregated sales and transaction reports so we can operate the business. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Analytics and crash data
We do not embed any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in the App. Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized usage and crash statistics through its built-in App Analytics — but only for users who have chosen to share analytics with app developers in their iOS settings. This information is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you.
Notifications
The current version of the App does not send notifications. If we add reminders in a future version, they will be on-device local notifications, and we will update this policy to describe them.
3. Information on the website
Waitlist and email updates
If you enter your email address into a sign-up form on our Site, we collect that email address to add you to our mailing list. We use our email service provider, Kit (operated by Kit.com, Inc.), to store our list and send messages; your email is stored on Kit's systems on our behalf. We will email you about the App's launch and, from time to time, about updates, new features, and related news. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
Hosting and security data
Our Site is hosted and secured by Cloudflare. As with virtually all websites, our host automatically processes limited technical information — such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of your request — in order to deliver the Site to you and protect it against abuse. We do not use this information to identify you personally.
Cookies
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies on the Site. Our host may set essential cookies that are strictly necessary to serve and secure the Site.
4. How we use information
- To run our waitlist and send you updates you asked to receive.
- To operate, maintain, and secure the App and Site.
- To understand and improve the App, using only the aggregated, anonymized analytics Apple may provide.
- To comply with the law and enforce our Terms.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build profiles about you.
5. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent to send you emails after you sign up (which you may withdraw at any time by unsubscribing); and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the App and Site in a privacy-protective way.
6. How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers who act on our behalf: Apple (app distribution, purchases, and aggregated analytics), Kit (our email list), and Cloudflare (Site hosting and security). They process information only to provide their services to us.
- Legal reasons: if required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- Business transfer: if we are ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
7. Data retention
- App content: stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. We do not hold it, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our end.
- Email address: we keep it on our mailing list until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you, after which we remove it from our active list.
8. Your choices & rights
- Unsubscribe from our emails any time using the link in any message, or by emailing us.
- Delete your app data any time from within the App, or by uninstalling it. See our Data & Account Deletion page.
- Access, correct, or delete the email information we hold about you by emailing support@plantkeeperjournal.com.
9. Regional privacy rights
EEA / United Kingdom
You have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because we and our providers are based in the United States, your email information is processed in the U.S.; by joining our list you understand and agree to this transfer. California
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access and delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing." We do not sell or share personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, email us.
10. Children's privacy
The App and Site are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We work with established providers (Apple, Kit, and Cloudflare) that maintain their own security measures. Because your plant data is stored on your own device, its security depends largely on your device's protections — such as your passcode, device encryption, and your own backups. No app, website, or method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will provide a more prominent notice (for example, on the Site or by email). In particular, if we introduce optional cloud sync or accounts in a future version, we will update this policy to describe how that works before it takes effect.
